Youth & Kids Dance Program
WeMove has a unique approach to dance education for children and youth. While focusing on a high level of technique and skill, the essence of the classes is grounded in creativity, inclusivity, and wellbeing, mentally, physically and emotionally.
Our vision is to make dance available to a growing number of young people and provide wholesome dance education, access to creative expression and encourage personal and social development.
_
Each class is taught by an educated and experienced dance instructor (and an assistant for larger classes). The nature of this program is non-competitive and celebrates dance for its beauty, respectful discipline, physicality, connection to self and community, body awareness and self-expression. Students may choose to take more than one class, or change styles between terms. There will be an end-of-year concert to showcase the collection of dance works created throughout the year.
Participation in the concert will require adequate commitment and class attendance to develop and learn the concert material. Each class has suggested dance attire, allowing students to dress to their comfort, while upholding the practical importance of dancewear.
We look forward to dancing with your young person and guiding them to a long-lasting love for dance!

With Talulah Gough and Alona Rosenberg
WeMove has chosen The Connected Ballet Method as the curriculum to bring youth ballet to Mullumbimby. WeMove and CBM aim to nurture and grow dancers that understand their bodies and how they can safely embody ballet technique.
The CBM teaches students barre work, centre work and ballet choreography, just as some other ballet techniques do, however, CBM focuses on ballet as an art, not a competitive sport, with safe dance practices as a focus. Students complete CBM grades and share their achievements through class sharings with parents and special guests. Our mission is for dancers to experience the joy of connecting with music and expressing through ballet in a safe, non-competitive environment. Connected Ballet Method believes ballet is for every body and our classes aim to nurture and encourage dancers with solid ballet technique and awareness of the unlimited potential of dance.
