Hula is an art-form from ancient Hawaiian culture. It is dance of unity, of beautiful movements and song. This class is a gentle and is accessible at any age. Learn the meaning behind each graceful gesture in the mele (song) and immerse yourself in the aloha spirit as we coordinate the mind, body and soul. We dance to uplift the spirit and connect to our inner and outer landscape, telling a story of the `aina (land) we live in.

Int/Advanced Belly Dance Course

Int/Advanced Belly Dance Course

This Int/Advanced Belly Dance 10 week course will help take your dance to the next level. We will use the connection to our femininity to ground deeply and allow for more grace and flow in our dance. We will learn a variety of techniques and enhance our coordination whilst focusing on harnessing the power of the body and expressing through our movements. Through the course we will learn a beautiful choreographed dance and explore the possibility of performing as a group. Term 1 starts 6th February.

Curious Body

Curious Body

Curious Body is a fun explorative practice of movement & dance creation. In these sessions we aim to drop into a state of interest & awareness generating movement that is articulate & connected to our all sensing body. There are many tools to support this enquiry and Kimberley has been developing Curious Body over the last four years honing her ability to create a space for this kind of engaging movement to occur. The sessions also move through a creative composing space where we play with crafting what is emerging as we improvise as individuals, explore ensemble composition & responsive play. Though Kimberley teaches Contact Improvisation, please note that Curious Body is not C.I.

It is fun and open to all levels of movers. It is also an accumulative practice; the more you come the more you discover.

Hip Hop

Hip hop, urban and street dance are an expression of a time, a place and a people. Learning street dance is an awesome way for you to get in touch with your grooving, stylish self, gain fitness and develop healthy brain function (choreo isn’t usually easy, but it does wonders for developing mental sharpness!) In this class we will loosen up, have a stretch, groove to some great classic tracks, learn foundational moves and slowly progress on a choreography that you can take home with you.  No experience necessary. Just come as you are and be ready to have some fun getting down!
