Contemporary Basics
Contemporary Basics is a class dedicated to the foundations of contemporary dance. The fundamental techniques provide a foundation for the many expressions of contemporary dance. Through a series of structured sequences we explore swings, curves, weight transfers and foot articulations. This class is a great place to begin if you are new to contemporary dance. It is also an opportunity to become more embodied in other dance styles, learning the mechanics of movement and moving with more potential and ease. This class is also beneficial for seasoned dancers as it provides conditioning and practice in further developing the basic techniques that can be taken into other classes and choreographies.
